This year, Big Valley Ford is proud to be an official drop off location for new unwrapped toys for the CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive. The toy drive kicks off today and runs through December 16th. We are happy to accept donations on behalf of the Toy Drive and encourage the entire Big Valley Ford community to get involved and bring in some toys!
The CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive is a partnership between the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and TV Station KCRA 3. They invite everyone in the community to donate new and unwrapped toys to any CHP donation station.
If you know any schools that would like to join the drive, please call CHP Officer Adrian Quintero or Jeanie Hoatson at (916) 464-2090 or your local CHP office.
Once the toy drive closes, KCRA 3 and the CHP will distribute the toys to kids who are either hospitalized or disadvantaged through UC Davis Children’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital, the Salvation Army, WEAVE, Head Start, Boys & Girls Club, Operation Rudolph, and other community service organizations.
Some suggestions for types of toys to donate are (but not limited to) educational toys for toddlers and babies. Board games, puzzles, craft sets and building sets for younger children. Sports equipment, hand held video games, walkman radios, CD players, movie passes, phone calling cards and gift certificates to clothing, variety, book and music stores for teenagers (who are usually over looked in toy drives like these.) Unfortunately, the CHiPs for kids program cannot accept cash donations at this time.
Please help Big Valley Ford collect as much as we can for the drive!
